Subject: humming from fuel pump?

I have a 2001 sport 4.7 with 1800 miles. a slight hum is cumming from around the fuel pump. I just noticed it, however it may have been there when purchased. Is this normal? Due to recent experience with other cars, indicates a bad fuel pump. Any sugestions out there?

most fuel pumps have a hum when operating. mine 95 dak does the same thing, although it's not that noticable over the exhast. Chevrolets fuel pumps are the worst for humming.

I have an 01 with, 4.7, with 600 miles on it. Hums like a bird. I think they all do.
