I have a 95 SLT that does not want to idle. It has the 5.2L motor with an automatic trans. The truck runs fine when its moving but when I stop and take my foot off of the gas it will stall.

Check out the stalling 3.9 post. I'm sure Bernd will have an answer for you anyways.

I had a 94 Dakota V-8 with the same problem. At first I thought there was a bad idle solenoid in the throttle body assembly, because it died unless I kept my foot on the gas. A local parts shop recommended cleaning the throttle body before replacing any expensive parts. It seems that carbon buildup over time on those circular butterflies? prevents proper airflow. Although skeptical at first, a $4.00 can of throttle body cleaner fixed the problem, and it hasn't come back...Ed
