Ok...I am not reall a Dakota expert and this will be my first Dakakota actually....
...I have the chance to purchase this:
1999 Dakota SLT
v8
Has pretty much every available option on it.
my friend had this truck "ordered" for him in 99....of course, I will be the second owner.
16,000 miles
$14,100
Again....it has every available option on it....it is truly a sweet truck
5.2 liter
3.55 gear
has some kind of storage case looking thing on the headliner(factory)
Truck "stickered" at 21,000
friend paid 17,500
it is truly a sweet looking truck....it is kinda gray and pewter looking color mixed togeter..
Hey, as I said I am a Dakota novice
What are things to be aware of, if I buy this truck?....even if I SHOULD BUY THIS TRUCK?

I'm happy with my 99 5.2L dakota. It has 53,000 miles (100 mile round trip to and fro work) and only had to replace a cat. It has a K+N air filter, doug thorley muffler, a slightly tweaked throttle body, and runs high 15's at 88mph om the 1/4 mile. It get's 16+ mpg and pulls a load good. I'm a happy camper. BTW, I was a chevy guy too before getting my dakota. Good luck!

Fat anything is better than a CHEVY!I,m a DIE HARD FORD MAN...but but but I'm the very prod owner of a new 2000 4.7L Dakota.I love this Truck. (MORE THAN MY PAST RANGERS..BUT NOT MORE THAN MY HOTROD MUSTANG)It sounds like a good buy to me...if you look at some of the POSTs..you will see things that reader will say about there Trucks.Keep in mind..that not all Dakots have the same problems.The problem that I have with mine is that I can't keep GAS in it,I love to put the petal to the metal.They are the best things sence.. SLICED BREAD. PS Hope I didn't OFFEND the CHEVY lovers.

IF IT RUNS GOOD BUY IT. I HAVE A 99 4X4 318 V 8 . ILOVE MY TRUCK , ONLY THING I'D CHANGE IS RATIO IN REAR BUT THEN I RUN TALL TIRES IN THE WINTER . GET THE TRUCK YUO'LL LIKE IT. MATTER OF FACT I LOOKED AT A 2001 TODAY QUAD CAB 4X4 V6 5 SPEED , BUT NOT FOR ME BUT MY WIFE IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO GET MINE BACK
