After everyone voted...i went with the 3inch single tip gibson cat back system. I was wondering if anyone has put one on themselves and if it is pretty easy or not? Any special tools required? How long did it take?? Here is what i have again 2000 4.7 2wd extra cab short bed. Thanks again

I had mine done at a local muffler shop and it took about 30-40 minutes. I watched the guy do it every step of the way, and the only special tool I saw him use was a cutting torch on the old exhaust. With the old stuff out of the way, it bolted right up using the stock mounts. The hardest part seemed to be deciding exactly where to cut the old system so the "hump" on the new one would clear the rear axle. If I had been doing it myself, it probably would have taken considerably longer and involved at least one trip to the hospital. But that's just me.

I had a mechanic at work do mine. He used a cutting wheel to cut through the rear pipe (in several places)where it overlaps the front pipe and then peeled it back to open it up so that we could pull it away from the other pipe.

I have a 93 dakota sport with the v6 reg cab short bed.
I installed my gibson cat back exhaust my self it is
the 3in single outlet. I think you can install yours
just read the directions with the kit. I used a electric
saw to cut the old exhaust out and to cut the pipe
behind the cat as the directions say .I would get a
friend to help it sounds good and has more power
good luck.
