Just had a thought on the two different throttle bodies...maybe it is the difference between the CA and the federal versions of the 4.7. I haven't looked at mine yet (a 2000 CA version) but will get around to it within the next couple of weeks. My understanding is that there are a few differences between CA and fed versions on the 2000 4.7, one being the catalytic converters...my CA version has 3 cats (one just downstream of each exhaust manifold, and a third just after the Y-pipe, and its my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong here) that the 2000 federal 4.7's only have the one after the Y-pipe. If Dodge did that to the CA 4.7's, maybe they threw on the smaller TB as well.
By the way, as I understand it, all 2001 4.7's are now equipped like the 2000 CA 4.7's. i.e. 3 cats. Hence the change in the 2001 power rating on all 2001 4.7's to 230 (CA versions were always rated at 230).
Make sense?
