Who makes the air intake that is sold at quickd.com? I want one for my 98 5.2 and the ones they are selling are comparable to the Airraid in price.

These are made by Tony and his help. Tony is the owner of http://www.quickd.com.
They are of a much better design than the Airaid system since they use a smooth tube instead of the, airflow restricting, "accordian" intake tube from the factory.

It seems that in general, people feel that the K&N GenII is the best. How does the one at quickd compare?

For a comparison of the QuickD vs. Stock...the QuickD beats it hands down. On the QuickD vs. K&N Gen-II, Gen-II is the winner.

Bernd, What about the Z-Tube vs. K&N Gen-II? Are they pretty similar? I am considering the Z-Tube for my 4.7L.

The K&N Gen-II (referred to in this thread) is a totally different design than the "Z-Tube" from Intense Performance.
K&N is supposed to have a "Twister" system for the 4.7L but I haven't heard of anyone with it at this time. I have spoken with several who have the Z-Tube and they are very happy with it.
