I tried the 3923 in my 4.7 worked ok, but the 5224 non platinum work better, Stay away from the platinums, these are a no no on the 4.7 because of heat displacement from the coil on plug design. I have the 5224 in both my Daks, 4.7 and runs SWEET. along with the 180T-stat. I used Stant Super stat# 65358.

The 3923's have worked well in my 4.7 motor. Feels like it picked up power (not much) but it was a little quicker in its stride......

Alex, nearly all sparkplugs, even Autolites, will need to be gapped prior to installation.

THen step back and admire a job well done. Then notice right away the pep and smoothness your Dakota has due to the new Autolites you just installed. Be proud knowing that your truck will purr like a kitten each time you step on the gas.

Be smart, start right with Autolite!

No, I get nothing in the way of compensation. Just the satisfaction of knowing many have switched to AUtolite ignition engineered sparkplugs and are experiencing the fast starts, smooth idle, and pep that Autolite is known for.

Everybody needs to coooooool off just a sec and realize this is one of the funniest things to hit this board since it was created. Everyone who is so mad at Harlow, please go to the "About Harlow Wilcox" post and read 12GADAK's post.

This is all a giant radio commercial from the 1930's......

You people are like rabid pit bulls about your freakin' spark plugs..... I've never seen so many people take one joker so seriously.

Holy mackerel.

A joke is not a joke, when it's been posted in every damn message about spark plugs.

Reading Bernd's posts from more than over a year ago -- the older style board -- even back then, he was the very knowledgeable and helpful person he is today. This guy is just annoying and I still say, fuk off.

OK, so what should I use? The 5224's, or the 3923's? I've got a 2000, 4.7 5 spd. with over 60k miles on it. I would like to replace the plugs as part of the 60k tune-up. I already have the 180 degree t-stat, should I do anything else?

Autolite Plugs are the only plugs I have used that would consistently foul in my ford. I was useing Bosch Platniums first 50,000 in my old 85 ford then one day Walmart had sale on autolite platnim plugs. I bought some and the were fould be my next oil change. I cleaned them and put them back in. Next oil change I checked them again due to poor MPG. Once again they were fouled. I put another set of bosch platniums in and left them alone for another 50,000 miles and they never fouled. I have also had good luck with NGK and Denso plugs.
