I have looked all over on this site for the anwser to my questions but so far i have been unable to find them.

I want to get a flowmaster 40 for my 99 dakota with a 5.2 and i dont know if i want the delta or the regular. i had a jeep with an aftermarket exhaust and it was god awful loud on the inside so i can deal with interior noise, but i don't know how bad the resonance is on the 40 reg. so that is my question, how bad is the interior resonance with the regular flows.

Next question. What size inlet and dual outlet should i go with. i think that the stock pipe is 2 and a half, so should i go with a 2 1/2 inlet and dual 2 1/4 outs. i really dont want to lose torque, which apparently happens as the pipes get bigger. so if you very knowledgable people could help me out that would be great.

Thanks

As far as the exhaust goes. All I know what to say when I was getting it was that I wanted the Flowmaster 40 System w/cat back duals. It sounds awesome, and the interior noise isnt bad either, I havent been in too many trucks with exhaust to compare but to me, yup its Sweet.

I Installed a flowmaster 40 on my 5.2L when I added headers and dual exhaust and yes it was LOUD. My 40's eventually started a vibration noise from inside the muffler and I have since replaced them with the dynamax (much better). At first I hung my exhaust from under the cab. The resonance from being hung from the cab was terrible. I rehung the exhaust from the frame and bed and the resonance stopped and the noise now goes sraight out the back of the truck.

Delta 40 will be a little quieter. It's still alot louder than stock, but not annoyinly so. That's what's on mine with cat back duals. It is 2 1/2 pipe. You will not loose any torque by doing this.
