even if they are gapped right i think they end up baking off anyways. i've replaced the plugs 3 times myself and every time the old plugs have opened up to .43-.45, and i know they were gapped right going in... i just wait for the idle to go crazy and i know its time to slap in some nice fresh .40 gapped plugs.

Do the autolight 3923's work in the 5.9?

If so do you need to change anything else to run them as I thought they are one range cooler?

The factory champions are the worst plugs I have ever had. They suck, cut and dry! If you no anyone who works for or peddles champion plugs, tell them that they SUCK!
Go with Autolite's or Bosch. Autolite 3923 for summer and 5224 for winter. The 3923's are a colder plug. The 5224 is direct replacement. Be sure to use just a small amount of antiseize on the threads. Dont go crazy, a little dab will do you right.

On a 4.7 the plugs are on top to the engine, You will notice when looking, just inside from the valve covers, there are 4 coils front to back each side. You have to unplug the coil wires and remove the single nut holding them down and pull straight out. Plugs are underneath and require a extenstion to get them out. Plus removal of airhat and a tube to get at a couple of them.

I have a 2008 Dodge Dakota with 5.2 engine, 16 spark plugs. It is time to change the upper plugs. They are in a narrow tubular well that a regular 5/8" spark plug socket will not fit into. I have checked all auto supply stores, Cornwall and Snap On Tools, and no one has a narrow wall socket to fit. Has anyone had experience with this? Might this socket be proprietary to Dodge at this time?

I just changed my spark plugs in my 2003 Dodge Dakota - 4.7 liter engine. The plugs I pulled looked like possibly the original plugs. I gapped the new ones to .40. Now my truck runs like it has a little miss. Is that normal?? However, I have changed 6 of the 8 and will change the other two plugs tomorrow. Is it cause the other two old plugs are still in???
