If you want it to be heard then you're going to want a centrifugal supercharger or a turbo. You never mentioned what engine this would be going on.

i installed a powerdyne on my V6 and then on a 2002 RT. if you want to be "heard" then you would want the powerdyne... kinda sounds like the old school blowers. It didnt perform so well on my sixer with the 6 lb pulley but its a blast on my friends RT. He has a 10 or 11 lb. pulley waiting to go on it. That should make pretty damn fast!

How's the stock fuel system going to hold with that much boost?

intensedk... was your friends r/t stock or was it trickd out w/heads, intake, rr, fuel system, and ignition or was it more stockish? i know 10-11 lbs of boost isa lot of stress on a 360, and was just curious of his setup.

I dont know about being heard, but as far as quality goes I would pick Paxton, then Vortech, and never powerdyne.

Is it possible to use the old style superchargers ( like the one B&M sells ) on magnum engines ? I am sure I would have to design my own intake to go under the supercharger, but has anyone tried this ?

A little FYI...Paxton & Vortech are now the same company pretty much. Paxton has bought out Vortech, dunno how that'll change things about the quality of Vortech. Heard alot of people had problems w/ Paxton's...never heard bad news about Vortech's, heard those were always top of the line.

xplikt,
its 5pnt9luv's truck. The s/c comes with an additional inline fuel pump and a FMU. Besides that we put in 24 lb injectors. i get constant updates from him and everything is doing good. The only problem he has had is with the stock air hat but now he has a ATI air hat. I dont think he has the smaller pulley (10-11 lb) on yet. I believe its the pulley that bernd use to have on his V6. And yes (whoever asked) we put the ported/polished 1.92 RT heads on, 4 barrel M1, 1.7 rr, and a 52 mm tb. But non of that is neccessary. Just invest in some really good head gaskets.

I heard the paxton was the best way to go if you want lots of performance... the F4 software I believe it's called makes it really easy to tune... next choice would be the ATI but apparently it's alot harder to tune

There is alot of confusion going on about boost... to give you a bit of history about me I work on aircraft for a living... one of my customers has a 550ci engine in his plane with twin turbos and twin intercoolers. Contrary to what I was told I don't think the paxton will give you more boot. what I was told was the paxton Novi 2000 will put out 1700cfm and the Procharger... let's go the hi end model D-1SC puts out 1400cfm. So all that's basically saying is one will dry your hair quicker than the other... pressure is really what matters... how much air you can stuff into the engine on a given cylinders intake stroke. Now to compair pressure the Novi 2000 puts out 27psi, where the Procharger can put out 32psi. The max HP increase numbers are very close, but without an intercooler you'd never get there. Where as the Procharger is intercooled and that makes a huge differance if you want people to notice you... bad mounting location yes... but the paxton has nothing... I suppose you could add a cooler... but that would be alot of work and alot of fiddle farting. From what I have see the Ati is a way better build... the only downside is the tuning... which is somthing I would ask Ati about. Your choice in the end... just though I'd try to help.

I have a vacuum that I switch to the blow setting it blows 170mph and its mounted under the hood of my beast. All I did is took my vacuum and dismantled it to just the motor hooked it up to my battery than to my intake and I just came up with a home made supercharge and it works well just sounds fun. Guys always wonder what I have under the hood, it’s a Sears blower. They laugh and say your joking right. You can also use a leaf blower for add boost.
