I have an 01 4.7 4wd and would like to consider changing out the rear brake drums for disc. Can i do this easily or will I need to change my entire rear end out for a newer model year as they have rear disc brakes. Or is there an after market type set up I can use.

Never heard of that mod before.
Does not sound very easy to do and think it would not be worth the time or money.

you could swap in the rear from an '02 or '03 or try someone like SSBC. they may have a kit and it may be cheaper than the swap.
