No offense but someone lied to you., TOP speed should be around 130mph for a v6 at max I would bet lower too like 115. As for teh V8 might get to like 145mph again I would bet close to 125 or so.

Mine doesn't have a limiter and I have had mine up to 121 mph & that is where I ran out of RPM's in 5th (4700 RPM's)

216 and 180 are km/h. thats if the truck is stock. I've had mine hit 200km/H or 125m/h with just a new cat, muffler and drop in K&N. Going to try the new cold air this weekend. Conditions permitting of course.

I don't know I have the stock speedo that only goes to 200km/h. It did feel a litle faster than before. very hard to tell at that speed.

Isn't that what I said. Only your a ghey a$$ hole. Dude there is no reason to be in such a rage over this 216 speed thing. First it's gotta be in kph which should be like 162 mph, and a stock r/t may hit right around there. as for 216mph I highly doubt a stock v8 R/T or otherwise would hit that speed.
And your right the hood would most likely fly up at that speed however there wouldn't be a difference on this between the R/T as opposed to a 4.7 or otherwise as they all are similar in the hood latch.
But I would loved to see the miata.

I have a 98 Dakota V6, and i have only had it to 110mph, this was on a 2 mile stretch of flat road. I have Flowmaster 40 Duel Exhaust, Airade intake, and R/T rims on 255/60/17 BFG's. I dont know where you get this 125 mph in a V6.

FACT: I have had my Dakota Sport V6 3.9L up to 120mph. This was when it was completely stock. It took forever to get there, and the truck sounded like it WANTED to go faster.. but I think the gears are set to low.

I was driving my v6 dak and i hit about 108 then i started to go down a hill and it started to go really fast then boom the speedlimiter hit sooo hard. i like flew forward. thats was fun.

The fastest DOdge Dakota i've seen ran 148mph...this was with the speed limiter removed (custom flash) and a blower. They're still a brick in the wind as compared to a sports car. ;)
The V6 could be capable of 140 without too many issues, but engine modifications would be required as 5th gear (OD) requires more HP to keep it moving at higher speed...the factory HP rating won't do it. This is not forgetting that at stock height, it'll be all over the road at 140mph...lowering and a stiffer suspension is required for this.
For those with a '97 or older Dakota, change the speedo-gear to a 40 or 42 tooth gear to find out how fast it can go (this is an easy way to fool the speed limiter on the '97 or older trucks). You'll either need a State Trooper to clock you for an accurate speed reading or a buddy in a faster car to tell you what speed you hit though. ;)

Oh, yeah. ive never gone faster than 85 in the truck. Too many cops. 85 was in rush hour traffic (yeah i know rush hour!) but your a small finsh in rush hour, and you go with the flo!

Just rev the hell out of it. I had a '91 S-10 with a 4.3 TBI without a rev-limiter... it was so funny to just rev it until it would not rev anymore. HAHAHAHA.
'97 RC V6, 5spd, soon to be V8, 5spd!
