I noticed quite a few 93 3.9's on that list with well over 200-300,000 miles. Pretty encouraging for a guy with a 93 that has 169,000 on it. Heck I'm not even half way there yet!

After reading some of those posts, I feel kinda guilty getting rid of my last dak at 200,000 miles. One thing about it, there will never be cheaper vehicle to operate than the one you own, paid for and perform your own maintenace. I have figured it ou on a couple of vehicles, that I have owned in the past, the per mile cost of the that was paid and me doing my own maintence was one third the cost of operating a new vehicle including paying for a loan, insurance and having someone else doing the maintenance. Having a shop performing you maintenace and repairs brought the cost up to about 60 percent of a new vehicle.

with 137,900 miles. Got a couple of little "issues" to sort through before she's ready for upgrades... but they're not big ones.

Did some digging this afternoon and found that the reason my map lights (rearview mirror) are working is inside the connector for the harness that leads up into the headliner. I tried taking the connector apart... but I was runnin' out of daylight and it didn't appear to want to come apart any further. The switch is good, and the new bulbs work. Just a bad wire inside the connector.

Then... I've got to figure out what's going on with the power mirrors. Probably a stripped (plastic gear), or a loose connection. Haven't started digging there yet.

But... first, I've got to inspect the rear brakes, repack the rear wheels' bearings, replace the seals, flush/bleed the brakes with new fluid.

Then... I've got to replace the hoses/thermostat, flush the cooling system (don't know when it all was done last, and want a baseline to fall back on).

Once that's done... I can start to consider some "upgrades". Oh yeah... I also found a canopy dealer today, who just happened to have the right "key" in stock !! And... they gave it to me !! Who'd've thunk? Anywho... got the mechanism all lubed up and now the canopy lock works like a charm too.

I'm not gripin' about the 16.5 mpg either (3.9/auto)

Hi,
I have an 1987 Dakota Longbed that I just had the engine rebuilt(paperwork available). It has about 156K on it, and although it has a new engine, I want to get into a vehicle that my 5 grandkids can fit into.
Could anyone give me an idea of what it may be worth to someone in a Dakota Club or something.
It is 2 tone Gold in color and the body is Excellent.
I prefer knowing that someone will keep and enjoy this vehicle as I have rather than turn in into a dealer who would probably send it to be "parted out"
This is a sincere request, so I thank you all for reading, and wish you all a Merry Christmas.
Ron Sacramento California
