Message: Hi everyone,
If you are like me when you buy a mid size truck with a V8 you want it to preform, well I hate to say it but I bent my drive shaft and yoke. Chrysler said it would happen again so I had to sell my dakota. What happens is there are two straps with two bolts that hold your U-bolt in the yoke, on mine the two bolts on the strap backed out and shared off. I guess I got on it one to many times and put the drive train in a bined which in trun bent the drive shaft, yoke, and shattered the U-bolt. If cost a little bit under a thousand dollars, so if your are like me and buy a truck for preformance and expect it to preform be sure and check the bolts on the U-bolt and yoke. Dodge openly said that this was a poor designed, so I sold mine and I miss it like hell but I could not afford another problem like this again. Hoped this helped you all.
Thanks,
Jason

Message: Andrew,
I do not know, you should probley ask your local dealership.
The only reason I posted in the first place was to fore warn dakota owners to check their u-bolts straps.
Thanks,
Jason

Message: www.mopartsracing.com offers a 29-spline u-bolt yoke conversion... But it's for the DANA-60 axle... I guess if you want a truck w/ a lot of power and a drivetrain to handle it, you gotta pay for it!
