I have a 1990 with 105K Miles. Still Tight and Drives Awesome. Oil always Changed 3000 K or LESS. Call me Cautious.
It's White and I have many Pictures. Interior is Gray Cloth. 4 X 4 , Big Tires, Brakes just done. Great Body except for the Famous Dodge Paint peeling in Places. Unmolested Example of this Cool and Original Truck. Has Air/ All Power/ Drivers Lumbar / Casette too ! Top is Black.

It's an '89 white Dakota Sport Convertible with 4 speed auto transmission and a 3.9 liter V6. The options on the truck are cruise, power windows, power locks, Chrysler/Infinity Cassette stereo system. There is a cover for the top when it is folded down. It has aftermarket aluminum 15 inch wheels and good tires. The original aluminum Sport wheels are also included and are in good condition. The interior is a burgundy color and is in excellent condition.
The body has NO damage and is rust free. In a couple of places along the bed rail and on the hood, the white paint has peeled off. It could be touched up fairly easily and the rest of the paint is in pretty good shape.
The top is intact and mostly watertight, but has faded a little to a grayish color on the top. The plastic rear window is completely clouded. I've located replacement tops on various webpages for $261 for standard vinyl (like the factory one) to over $450 for a true cloth top. I got estimates for replacing the top and they were all around $650-800 installed including the cost of the vinyl top. If you're mechanically inclined, I don't think doing the replacement yourself would be too difficult.
The truck has right at 120,000 miles on it. A large percentage of those miles are highway miles, as I drive it on my 120 mile daily commute to work. It starts easily and runs very well, generally getting 18-20 miles per gallon. The only mechanical problem with it is the a/c compressor needs refrigerant. I last had it serviced in Summer 1998 and the a/c stopped cooling effectively in Summer 2000.

I have a black 1990 Dakota Sport Convertible that I have to sell. It is a 3.9L V6, with AT, power windows, power locks, AC, and has a radio with cassette. The body is in great shape, but the paint on the hood and front-left quarter panel needs a little help. The convertible top window is very yellowed, but the cloth is still in good shape. It is in San Clemente, CA and was driven lightly over the past 4 years. $4,000 obo.

Im selling my 89 dodge dakota convertible truck. Its got a V6 3.9 liter engine with a manual trans. Both run great. The interior is almost mint with just a little wear and the exterior is in real nice shape with no major dings and a new paint job. Its black. It has a modified horn which includes three air horns and a air compressor. The wheels are in great shape. There last another three or four years. The bed is covered with a soft cover. Have maintenance receipts from 1989 upward. Previous owner said that most mileage has been commuting in Sacramento. This truck has had 3 mature driver/owners. I purchased maybe 2 or 3 years ago and have added under 3,000 hiway miles. I bought AAA diagnosis and mechanics said all-ok with no problems found. There are no signs of off-road under-carriage dings. There is no rust. Truck condition is normal wear and tear. No blems on upholstery or floor. Vinyl dash has been covered but I saw a crack the other day. Tach needle started sticking a few weeks ago but is accurate with a tap of the panel. Transmission has a whining noise. Rebuild probably required. One or two or three smallish parking-lot style dents; top is weathered with a couple small holes. New $250 vinyl top in box is included. Paint is now fading on hood.
I do not have a digital camera or scanner and, sorry, I can't afford it right now.
I've been asking $5,400 on craigslist, but folks do not know about this truck and think the selling price should be same as a conventional Dakota. I decided to discount this to $5,000 to help pay shipping.
