Message: I've always been told that a wider footprint is better on the snow? Does anybody have any oppinions on this tire itself?

Message: Then you've been told wrong, if we are talking about snow on pavement. With a narrower tire, you will have more weight per square inch of footprint - giving you better traction. Not familiar with the tire itself.

Message: Yea,a more narrow tread is better in the loose powdery snow!!Thats why Snow Cats use W-I-D-E tracks and snowmobiles use that wide track for traction.

Message: i had a set of the sts on a 99 dak. i ran 33x12.50x15. decent tire but they pack too much to be any good in snow or mud.i now run the trxus m/t and they are outstanding. they also wear decent on the street.

Message: You must remember that the Madkow only operates in the peoples republic of Mass. The people of the rest of the nation know nothing of how to operate in snow according to MadKow. So all of us using wide tires in the snow(and pushing snow) just imagine that we are moving. Long live the madkow.
