Dont sweat the steering, its cake. Took a whole 4 minutes to do. It helps if you do it through the fender.

After now having driven a Dakota with a Body lift and a Susupension lift. I can now say the ride is better on a suspension lift. The stock ride sucks. Rancho's help but it still suck. I have no idea why this. I do notice that the Rancho lift seems to have more side to side strength added in some of the parts added.

I will agree, for most on this board, and the reasons that people want lifts, to run 33x12.5 and such, Go body lift. Cheaper and you will run the 12.5 better on a body lift. The cons are not that bad.

Never late for a Tee time or wheelin with my buddies! Always ready for both!!!

I have a 2000 dakota and right now my truck is completely stock. I'd like to get a body lift cuz it's just completely cheaper and I just want the taller appearance, and right now I'm just on 31" tires. I'd like to go a couple inches bigger on my tires but will a 3" body lift cover that or should I just go with 32's? Is the body lift even worth it? Also my front end sits like 2" lower than the back and pisses me off will the body lift do anything about that or is that another thing I'm gonna have to change?

Thanks

Truck looks great I think i'll do a body lift first then the sus. what size of tires you got on there & is the bottom off your truck that chrome plating if so hows it holding up i have a solid blue truck that i think chrome would make it stand out better.

Hey Jaquesy,

I was just wondering if you had that 3" body lift installed and/or the suspension lift? If you have already done so, please let me know how it turned out. Thanks...

Tony Mattio

Your wrong adamL, After 2000, the Dakota was available with an optional NV244 (All Wheel Drive) transfer case.

waaaaiiit..so let me get this straight, cause ive been thinking about this the wrong way apparently..the 'body lift kits' dont actually raise the truck up at all, correct? They just seperate the frame from the suspension for larger tires? I ask because i was wanting to buy a 3in body lift kit for my 99 2wd, but if it actually doesnt make the truck any taller, then forget it..

A body lift does exactly as the name implies. It lifts the body off the frame. So if the bottom of the frame rail is 15" high, measured to the ground and the roof of the cab is 5'6", measured to the ground, adding a 3" body lift will now make the roof 5'9" measured to the ground while the frame still remains 15" as before.

However, a body lift will allow for slightly larger tires which will also increase frame height.
