I am not sure on the Shelby Durango, but an RT Dakota has front/rear stabilizer bars, 1" lowered suspension and free flowing exhaust. The engine itself is identical to the one in your Durango. The RT simply has other stuff bolted to the truck and an extra 5hp from the exhaust.

The Durango R/T was rated at 250 hp. The 5.9 SLT was 245 hp. The R/T from 00 till 10/01 had a unique R/T PCM (not to be confused with the Mopar PCM) and required premimum fuel. After 10/01 through 03 the R/T has the same PCM as the SLT. It has been debated if the 5 hp was due to the original PCM or the muffler.

The Durango R/T also had:

AWD only
17" wheels
two tone leather
rear swaybar
shocks
muffler

You mean that the PCM in the R/T Durango (not Dak) is different, right.
I've allways thought that the 5hp diff was from the pcm, and I'm sure that they could have added 10 if they really tried.

Yes in the Durango the PCM was different. I don't know anything about the Dak PCMs.

The stock Dakota R/T heads are NOT different. They are about as generic as they get.

The MP 5.9 R/T replacement heads ARE different.

The wealth of misinformation. The cam in the 5.9 R/T and the 5.9 are no different.

I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota RT 5.9 with Mopar Performance Headers, A cold air intake and one Flow Master muffler with twin outlet. So it looks like it has duel exhaust.
Will I get more out of the truck if I add another Flow Master muffler? Will it be worth the money?
What is better Power Programer or a Chip? The chip is cheaper. Don't get me wrong I want the best one not the cheapest.
If you know of any upgrades that will help me out please let me know.
I don't want to go too crazy like nitro, I'll just hurt myself with that. And a supercharger will cost too much.

245Hp and 335ftlbs tourqe.

Also the R/T Durango was rated at 350 ft lbs. So there for they must have done a bit of work on the intakes.

OK first off the throttle body spacer is a waste of money - it does nothing

now moving right along

either a cam or Harland Sharp 1.7 roller rockers

H.S. roller rockers can be found at either Jegs or Summit
