Message: Hello Everyone,
I own a 99 Dodge dokata sport 5.9L reg. cab short bed.
I live in IL. I'm going to move to CA. I'm towing a 6 by 12 foot trailer. With a clas 3 hitch. the total wieght with trailer will be 4300 pounds. I will be driving 2055 miles. I was woundering if you think my truck will do fine in the rockys. Is this a good idea or no? Do you think i'll make it up the rockys? Please respound.

Message: Your truck will do just fine but don't use OD if heavy pulling. You will use more gas but alot easier on tranny .

Message: As Chuck said, you should have no problems pulling up the hills. If you don't have trailer brakes, use enough restraint so you don't get into trouble on the downslopes. On Long 6%-7% grades some people not used to mountain driving end up "smokin" their brakes...........Have a good trip.
