did ok.. but it wasn't fast (clocked it getting to
60 in 13 or so seconds..., but then again, I got
it with 120,000 miles on it). Anyway.. it was an
ok car.. but it liked to whine when I had the A/C
on... no power at all.

Well, since we're on that subject of motors, I got one word for ya "HEMI". Funny, my dad is an Olds guy like me, but I got away from Chevy (GM) due to the bad luck with my old '95 S-10. Where else can you get a V8 in a mid size (4.7 in my case), room for 6 (QC like mine), haul some serious butt (16.4@85 bone stock, 5125lbs w/me in it) and toys (my '66 Olds F-85, no prob), and look good at the same time (4x4 QC looks sweeet!!)?? DEFINATELY NOT Chevy!! My Dad puts it best "Chevys are like a$$holes, everybodys got one"

Yeah BlkBird, But your the kind of person that thinks a 426 HEMI is slow, you do relize with that engine Chrysler owned the street and strip, no car could even come close to performing the way it did, oh wait except for another chrysler engine the 440 six-pack, both those motors got 5000 LB cars into the low 13's high 12's, hey i got an idea lets drop one in a 3000 LB Dakota (5.7L Hemi comming soon!! I hope) and lets see if a LS1 could keep up with it...I think not.. So go and drive your GM product...Like someone stated before Chevy's and Pontiac's are like asshoes everyones got one....And just for the record i have never lost a race to any chevy truck unless it was supercharged or was running NOS....

You want a list of what dodge has better then chevy well hears a list of stuff you can check your self.
1. Axles The axel on a tahoe or silverado and s-10 are like toothpicks compaired to the ones on the durango and dakota.
2. Limited slip. Our limited slip doesnt splinter apart when you spin the tires really fast and on top of that ours works.
3. Transfer case. New Venture is owned by damler chrysler. We make em for chevy also.
4. Better leather and plastic inside.
5. No creaks and no need to wear a hard hat in the car because the dodge interior isnt going to fall on you.
6. Engine ours it built thicker and heaver then the chevys. Ours are stronger and use stronger components and are manufactored with tighter tolorances. Also we have a roller cam in every magnum engine so all we need to do to get a full roller system is put on roller rockers.
7. Dakota has a 6 bolt wheel patern compaired to the s-10 5.
8. Door handles on ours will allways open the door not break of some internal component and leave you with a handle that doesnt open anything.
9. Cooling every fluid in our dodge has a cooling system of some sort (POWER STEERING FLUID) (TRANNY) and so on.
10. Our frame is twice as strong as the silverados in a dakota.
11. Our trailer package is a class 4 weight distribution hitch unlike the class 3 chevys got.
Story (My friends silverado got rear ended by a nissan altima and it was totaled because the frame bent really bad. The nissan was salvagable. )

maybe you guys just don't know it or but chevy sold chrysler the basic foundatin of the hemi but didn't need another v8 design because then had just finished their v8 blocks that we all know chevy to have now. chrysler took it alittle further and they made what we all know as hemi's
atleast that is what i have herd

Well my dakota is the only truck I owned that I have had to get something replaced becuse it was no good. I have a new tranny and transfur case at 9000 miles. The trany sucked from 300 miles. It would pop out of 1st. It took anther 8600 for dodge to do anything about it. Transfur case is gone again. This time I made not how many times I used it. 7 times. yes 7 times. On dirt 4x4ing. nothing tough. I thought cuz I did some things in Moab the 1st went out. Nope. This was all on loose dirt and only used when needed 4x4. Now on one trip I would shift it in and out. But still. I always thought you buy a audi you bought a machaic. Well with my dak I bought a machanic.
