I must first say, I have been a tried and true Mopar nut for decades, I have owned the 1950's Hemi cars and 440 6 pack cars of the late 60's early 70's not to mention a dozen or more of the Darts and even the 2.2 & 2.5 cars of the 80's & 90's...
But the two Dodges (98 Stratus & 96 Dakota Sport)I now own will be the Last!
This Dakota V6 is the sorriest gutless pig there is on the highway and that is if it can figure out what gear it wants to be in... There is not a two week period that goes by that something does not fall apart, the past two weeks problems have been, lower door hinge broke off, radio quit, front hubs won't unlock, headliner fell down,A.C. system went from frigid cold to hot air only, somewhere under the dash water is pouring in, drivers door handle broke,and not to mention the awful smell of mold when the heater or A.C. is turned on..To top it off a fresh tune up and diagnostics can only get the milage up to 16mpg on the highway... My 72 Catalina conv gets 18 mpg at 75mph with the top down..
My parents own a 94 & a 98 Jeeps and there is always something that is falling apart or not working on them.. If this is the way Chrysler is building automobiles then they are bound to go the route that good ole lee Iocca saved them from 20 years ago.. it is truly a shame to see what has happened to this car company!

my 01 dak qc is not dependable.i have no faith in this ride.im scared to take it off road for fear of breaking something.theres an awful noise in the front end when i hit a bump.the dealer seems to think its normal.who knows...
of course,maybe this vehicle will outlast all my others combined.have to wait and see i spoze.

and who cares how old the thread is?got anything constructive to say?personally,if im gonna take the time to type something,its not gonna be worthless babbling.then again,maybe you have nothing better to do and dont value your time like the rest of us.
