I would love to have a neon to go with my dakota (gas mileage)but for the money i may as well buy a honda, they last longer and their's more mods available. besides i have allready turned to the dark(rice) side when i bought my yamaha blaster (witch smokes any american made atv and costs half as much).

Gimmee a break, there are a bunch of cars out there that have those specs. and are a lot more reliable. the Neon is a piece of crap. The SRT is just a faster version of the same piece of crap.
Besides only about 10,000 will be built.
Yes the SRT is a cheap way to go fast, but thats all it is CHEAP. no class, looks like some 14 year old attacked it with a glue gun and an over active imagination.
You want a classy small car that looks great and scoots? try the Acura RSX. now thats a car I wouldnt be embarrased to take a lady out in.

I have raced many Hondas with my Neon, and I haven't lost yet. The neon is easy to work on also. I have two of them and have never had any problems with either of them. I don't understand where you get the POS idea from. I abuse mine, and it has never had any problems, and I have had it since 96. The only major recall that they have had is a head gasket in the older models. My reply to you is... It's not a piece. If you are a Honda lover then you are free to have an opinion, but that's all it is... just an opinion. Get facts to back you up before you make accusations about the quality for the Neon! My wife has a 2000 neon,she would not look at anything else,and I have to say its a pretty good car. No problems 42,000 mi.I used to hate econo cars, but I dont mind driving the neon at all.My truck is faster but not by very much the little car really scoots.

oh man, if i were buying an econobox, the srt-4 would be it...serious consideration, if i ever have the scraps to buy a second car :)
my sister has a base model '00 neon, 2.0, auto (3spd)...i beat the living wee-wee out of that thing, cuz my sister is a douchebag...and it keeps coming back for more. taking on full garbage cans at 55 mph (in retrospect im lucky i didnt blow the airbags) and only the mirror broke..not so much as a dent on the bumper.
and a friend of mine had a neon r/t when i first got my kota..he was giving me trouble in a race, but then again, i wasnt such a good driver off the bat.

well i have owned three neons a 95, 00 and a 02 and i have read a lot about the new srt4 and will get one as soon as i can come up with the cash honda boys are just jelous and scared cause a car thats under 20 grand will beat there lil crappy civic all souped up. well my stock neon against a stock civic is no contest i beat them all of time and i have had no problems with my new neon i did have to change the timing belt on my 95 but no headgasket problem and it had 75000 when i sold it. i have always had good luck with mopar ive owned imports and i dont like the way the feel the seem very cheap and i fell that america can compete and imports are not superior especially over hyped hondas!

Neons are harsh, primitive, poorly designed and poorly built crap. Americans have never designed a good small car and never will. And as long as the German owners use Pablo and Julio to bolt their garbage together, things will never get better.
Want a good high quality small car buy a Honda or a Toyota. Want cheap crap that lasts a month or so and breaks repeatedly, buy any American car.

I have 84,XXX on my ORIGNAL motor and I have raced in AUTO-X events since I bout it new, and I have yet to have any problems. A friend of mine has over 178,XXX miles on his and no problems.
Poorly designed - Ha, thats funny 'cause I can get 41 mpg on the highway travling at 70 mph traviling to an auto-x event. Then win my event by beating hondas, mazadas, and mr2s. My 97 neon ACR will own your honda/toyota in a auto-x any day of the week.
I know I go buy a honda with a v6 auto, nevermind the fact that the have over 650,000 recalls for that combo.

I am also dreaming about the 184(94 only neons) they made to race in SCCA and win. I am also dreaming about the 200+ wins in SCCA since 95. I am also dreaming about the class rules for SSB and SSC that were made because the neon was killing all the other cars in their class. And I am also dreaming up the 3 regional and 1 divisional championship(my first year racing) that I currently have. I guess you should tell the three miatas (two of them were spec miatas, if you know what that means) that I beat last time that my car handles like a shopping cart and should have lost.
