That Civic isn't that bad. In fact, I kinda like it. Actually, I like everything but the clear tail-lights. They just don't seem to fit. I liked the before picture with the stock red ones. They matched a lot better. I really like the red painted interior trim and the white-faced guages. Really nice touches! Your rims are pretty cool too. Just don't put one of those huge, butt-ugly wings on it and it will be fine. Do you have any engine-compartment pics? Any engine mods yet?

Civic is kind of ugly in my opinion, but the quad cab is nice!

dude, too much "pep boy style" clear tails dont
do it for me....if you go super stock with some
17" 5 spoke OZ wheels powdercoated, and a
nice drop, then you might have a nice
ride...chrome tips and clear lenses just look
cheesy (unless its the new 4" tip i'm gonna
slap on my 3" catback w/ Borla Race muffler)
sorry...should have bought black anyway, then
you can go sleeper style, all black; black tint,
black wheels, black/grey leather racing seats
etc...

I think the QC is pretty cool for a 2wd. The Civic looks alright at times. I definitely don't like the red strip on the windshield or the clear tail lamps. The exhaust looks good, but I bet it sounds like a bumble bee in a mason jar!

Hey Dr Q (for Queer I'm sure), in regards to your comment "Can't polish a turd", it's funny that you're too embarassed to even post a pic of your truck on your profile. Didn't your momma ever tell you if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all. This message board isn't here to give A$$holes like yourself a place to knock on people who take pride in the custom aspects of their vehicles, that's why this thread is in the "Off Topic" category. The real sorrow in your comment is that you fail to have a broad enough scope on the aftermarket to actually appreciate different styles. I'm sure your "home brew airbox" looks as appealing as PVC pipe and duct tape could look.
In the future, leave the jerk comments to yourself and go post in the "Small PeePee Webgroup", I'm sure YOUR charter membership is still valid.

Frankly I a little confused as to why you dicided to make me the focus of your venom considering the eloquency of the negative coments previous to mine. In response to your comments:
1.)Don't have a scanner or a digital camera so I built a replica at the 4adodge site. Pretty ingenious I thought. Hey rat fuk where's your pic or are you waiting to get your allowance from daddy to join.

While your idea of a performance upgrade is going down to the walmart and buying yourself a blue light special muffler and the Autozone tail lights. How much of an improvement did it really make. It must really impress the Jr. High girls down at the Piggly Wiggly.

Darn, I didn't know they had a thesaurus at the old folks home, especially surprising that a mid life crisis patient could use it. What really surprises me is that you make reference to my age. When in fact, I'm only 23, yet I own two vehicles that your part time burger flippin A$$ could only dream about (don't deny it).
Maybe you should also check your APC catalog, granted you can read capital letters, and turn to the page marked Euro Tails, there you'll find the "Pep Boys" tails that you made reference to earlier. You must spend a great deal of time with the old boys and at Walmart to know all of the products that they sell (oh that's right, they DO accept food stamps) :)
As soon as you get the golden balls to put your truck against mine in ANY aspect, you can comment on it. But hey, Home Depot doesn't sell grille guards or lift kits, so you'll probably have to fasten one with some more of that PVC pipe and wire ties.

Well Andrew, if you read back to the top of this thread, you'll notice that first of all, I posted this in the "Off Topic" forum. Doesn't the name imply that it's open to anyone to talk about anything? If we can't post "off topic" topics, what's the point of it. I didn't know it really meant that I would set myself up to be the target of creeps like yourself who try to bully people with words. What the hell was the purpose of Dr. Queer to post "Can't polish a turd"? Did he really think that the comment was helpfull in any way to anyone? I bet he would be first in line to throw the first stone @ somebody just because they're waking by. And what the fu-k is YOUR problem. Isn't Doc Queer a big boy who can handle himself without the help of a little boy like yourself. Oh by the way, if Doc Pedephile was so smart, wouldn't he catch the numerous spelling errors in his previous posts (minus the bad words)?
So in closing, If you think that you can try to bully me in being quiet when all I did was post an innocent topic....and then become the victim of verbal harrassment....you have another thing coming. In actuallity, I am really QUAD2NV...hence Coupe2NV. That's right, the good old boy who has fielded about a million questions from fellow Dakota owners via email and this very Forum. I've helped out just about everyone who's posted in "Raised Dakotas" and even had TallQuad model his brand new 2002 Dakota after mine. And the nerve of DR.Q to tell me that my truck looked better "prepimped". When he wins 7 first place trophies in 7 shows, has his truck featured in Off Road magazine, is invited to SEMA as a project vehicle and puts as much hard work and dedication into a vechicle as I do....then and only then will his comments be worth the space they consume. Plus, it's impossible to build a vehicle in such a way that EVERYBODY likes EVERYTHING about it. That however, doesn't give someone the right to make hurtfull comments when none were called for. I posted the pics of my 2001 Civic to give others some ideas about what different aspects of customization could be obtained, not give A$$holes a place to VENT!!! Plus Andrew, your audacity to insite others to harp...such as Leslie, gives you a mob mentality. Who are you, Hitler? Get a life dude.
Whoever created this site should deeply reconsider the validity of members. If we continue to target people based on the vehcile they drive...then something is wrong. I'm sure we'll all be driving Dakotas for the rest of our lives....YA RIGHT!

Art, at some shows, there aren't diverse categories in the "truck" class. With that, judges make a decision based on the modifications applied to your vehcile. In my case, being lifted took me out of the 2wd class since those vehicles were mostly lowered. It kind of goes with the same reasoning that if there's only a "Full Size" and "Mini" category, where do you put the "Mid Size" Dakota? There aren't enough Daks to compete in their own class (though I wish there was) so they put me in the class that best fits my mods. It just so happens that my Dakota, and Lifted 2wd Ram for that fact, won enough points in each respective cateogory that the judges look at, to win even in the 4x4 category. It just goes to show that there's enough competition out there to make it interesting, Just look at the "Past Competition" pics posted @ my site. It shows you what I was up against.

As for the car, I wouldn't own one, but the look quite appealing. Quad.. Your taking this way to negativly.. First off most people that drive trucks in general don't like ricers.. That's just the way it is. But when you look @ the Civic that you have up there it really doesn't look like a ricer the only thing that I and alot of us don't really like are the clear tail lights.. OH!! just because I have to say it.. Dr. Q said Auto Zone not Pep Boys :-) although it doesn't matter.

I both agree & disagree w/ Robert.. You do have to take the good w/ the bad. BUT Off-Topic means OFF TOPIC that means anything can be discused Robert I would have thought.. or perhaps expected everyone to be a slight bit more mature around here but I guess that just isn't the case.

Personally, I don't have any problems with all of this (both the ricer and the flames). It just bugs me when someone gets flamed on an off-topic board and then turns into a cry-baby.

I really try to stay away from being involved in flame wars, because as I have seen, it does no good since everyone has their opinion and you instantly become a target for trying to defend someone but this thread has gotten outta hand. We do not need to attack someone because they have a Ricer, he gave a link to view it if you would like to, not to be attacked by everyone. I have a ricer too and I posted on "What's your other ride?" thread NOT in the OFF-TOPIC area. I didn't see everyone attacking each other on that thread because they have a ricer crotch rocket or Jap made water craft... lets grow up and give some respect to each other. I bought a membership to be part of a group of "friendly" people with something in common, not everything in common. Y'all are diggin in to this way to deep. Personally I like the civic. My girl just got a 2001 LX. I like it. It's a fun little car. It's no Dak but then again she's not exactly a truck drivin kinda girl. It's a smooth ride and handles well. Wish it had a 5spd and an SI engine but oh well.

All right guys, it seems that alot of people who read this message board are immature. Take for example the fake post above where someone has used my tag name. Also, R/TKilla, what's the purpose of posting childish comments over and over again when people are actually trying to resolve this. Don't we want new members to join this site and pay a membership fee so that POSITIVE improvements can be made? By attacking people who post OFF TOPIC threads in the "OFF TOPIC" board totally defeats the all-around nature of DodgeDakotas.com. And if everyone who has posted something negative in this section (including me) actually thought about if they really cared about a Civic showing up, hopefully the answer would be NO. I mean come on, we're all here just to have fun talking and communicating about something we love...our vehicle. Regardless of WHO made it. I'm sure everyone's Dakota is 100% American!!!
Plus, Knobbyman, it kind of hurt when you were giving arbitrating wisdom up to the point you 100% agreed with "Robert". Robert quoted "Off-topic does not mean "OK to post your ricer here without any negative feedback." " While this is true, trace back to where I took the defensive. It wasn't about a negative comment, it was about someone giving a MALICIOUS comment. A negative comment falls under the category "I don't like your Euro Tails" or "The sound of your exhaust", not...."Can't polish a turd". The latter isn't critisism, it's hurtful. I spent hard earned time and money changing the way my Civic looked (much like everyone here with thier Dakota), and for someone to pose hatred instead of critisism caused me to go off the deep end. Remember, I broke ground with the 2wd Dakota by introducing the coil spacer to gain added lift clearance. I love my Quad Cab as much as my Civic (the 20 mpg difference the Civic has is the biggest factor!).
All in all, I guess we have to watch what we post in "Off Topic" and make sure that it doesn't conflict with anyone's OPINION. In that case, lets take opinions on Gun Control off the "Off Topic" board since who knows who it'll offend. And let's not stop there, I have a problem with birthdays too...so no more shout outs. And then.....
Remember guys, I posted a link, you have the will power to click on it or not. If you leave comments, I don't care if they're positive or not, just don't beat up on someones hard work (give CONSTRUCTIVE critisism). Ask youself first if YOU have the dedication to customize your ride and then display it. Even if it leads to what's transpired here!
