Well the last post on here was a year ago so I don't even know if any of you guys are hanging around. I found this forum - believe it or not, Dakota owners - by searching for something about Tacomas. I've read several of the posts and skimmed over others, and feel like I should add my two cents' worth. Most of you are bullheaded in your opinions, whether you prefer Dakotas, Tacomas, or others, but as far as how you all conduct yourselves, the Dakota owners are as unrefined, uncivilized, and uncouth as their trucks. I have never owned either vehicle myself, but plan to replace my current S-10 with a Tacoma. I think it's by far the best-looking truck on the road, including better than my own S-10. If you had asked me in the early 90s what my truck preferences were, S-10 was #1 by a long shot, followed by Dakota and Ranger, and I really didn't like any of the import trucks. Well, what can I say, things change. Now you couldn't PAY me to drive most of the trucks out there. If you ask me they're ALL ugly, some more than others. But I would buy an import before an American truck... actually I wouldn't buy an American truck, period. (I bought my S-10 because, as previously mentioned, I had a thing for S-10s in the early 90s) There are lots of different trucks out there for lots of different kinds of people. One size does not fit all. If Dakotas make you happy, more power to you. If Tacomas make you happy, more power to you. Have a nice life.
