As for body parts there's enough hoods out there. A couple lower airdams...Ummmm, I think that's it. Dang.
I think the plan is to sell this one and get a GenII ext cab V8. There's been some talk of putting on a new high revving head and turbo but I really want a different truck than the one I have now.
Goin' to the dealer tommorow to get a part for the egr system. Gonna see about buying a cam for it too. That's bout it, man.

See ya

Dude, you ever thought of puttin in a 6 or 8? Gen2 reg cabs are probably the best for performance as they are the lighest of em all.

Or have you checked into a turbo setup form a Daytona or Labaron?
You have to remember that a Mag6 is almost 100lbs lighter than an 8 so you can imagine haw much lighter a 4 is?!!
Every 100lbs equals quite a bit more performance.
So if you had 200hp from a 4cyl and 200+ less pounds right from the start? hummmm......

Im just throwing this all out there, sure youve heard it all from the Texas crowd your around.

Take care, Scott

Btw, LMAO bout the "gen2/cute engine" comment.

Yeah I know about the platform issue. A friend of mine has a genII RC that used to have a six in it. Now it has a blown 360. That thing hauls balls. {I'm gonna get him to come to the meets, Eric.)
lol I replaced the egr assembly so that part is off the truck now but I'll take a pic of it. The power is so awesome it melted a couple of holes in some plastic. Woo-hoo!
As for turbo, I've thought about it since I got the truck. I have a turbo shelby motor that I can nab parts from but I just don't know if I can get it to work. It'd cost a good deal of cash to get set up properly. Greg (IntenseDak39) and I talked about it a little. He used to have a Shelby. SO yeah, I HAVE already gotten it from my Texas crowd.

I still haven't got this thing runnin proper. I've replaced the egr assembly, fuel filter, and plug wires. I have pulled all the plugs and they look good. No codes are being thrown. Thinkin either the injector or the fuel pump. Most likely the fuel pump. But I dunno. Argh.

I changed the plugs less than 3000 miles ago. They are good. Mostly above 3000 rpm or at a good amount of throttle it sputters and spits. Also, sometimes when I come up to a stoplight and put it into neutral it almost dies. It also will do that when sitting at idle for awhile.

Well not to say that is your problem but I had less than that milage on a set of 3923's and developed a miss at 4000 and above, it got worse and worse to the point I thought the NX had done a head gasket in or something as I just stepped up to 100shot just before.

Well long story short I replaced the cap and rotor, coil, wires, injectors, after all that dad finally said to replace the plugs, I promptly told him there was no way they were it because I had about 1200 miles on the new setof 3923's.
Did a compression and leakdown test and all was well so I went on dads hunch and sure enough a new set of plugs cleared it all up.

Long story but I was in a writin mood, lol.

Good luck dude, Scott

Well I guess I'll try that then. I've paid for a new injector (over $100) and it will be delivered tommorow. So before I put that in I'll dish out the 8 bucks for some new plugs. Maybe that'll do it. If not, I got the injector on standby.

Best Ive ever done was 9.9 in the 1/8th that was before: full intake work, valve springs, shift kit and NX.

I am going to get back to the track before the summer is over, I was just waiting on the rear as 3.5 open has absolutly no traction with the NX at even 50 shot.

After I feel confident in her I will race again, should be in a week or so.

I'll keep you posted, look in V6 forum.

Scott

PS: Im gunnin for lower than 8.9 (1.8th). Wink wink, lol

You'll get around that if not lower for sure. I witnessed Intensedak39's 8.95 run. He's got the six and was runnin a 100 shot on that run. He has other mods of course, and he had bolted on some slicks. But with his 3.55 open he spun halfway down the track even with the slicks. With your weight and good tires, watch out!

Replaced the injector. Not it. Takin' it to the mechanic tommorow cuz I can't figure it out. That and I am tired of dealin' wit it. To the shop it goes.

Shame you couldnt get it figured out, that sucks.
Hope they dont charge you an arm and a leg, if its a bad part then ask for it once its replaced, that can keep some mechanics honest.

I would love to hook you up but the distance between Va and Tx is a bit too much.
I will admit I am a little jealous when I always here you Tx guys meeting up and workin on each others trucks.

As a matter of fact I can get 1 if not 2 more 8 3/4 rears like mine from the same guy I think.
I still think this is the best way to go because you can keep a couple of 3rd memeber set up with various gear ratios, it takes like half an hour to switch 3rd members once you've done it.
I have 4.10, 3.55 and 2.76. Can you imagine the top speed with 2.76?!!

Like I said before, hope your truck is an easy and cheap fix.

Good luck dude, Scott

Cheap is right. The thing goes into the shop and it starts right up for them. I had to tow it to get it there! They did a fuel pressure check and found no problem. It runs just great now (With the money I put into I hope it owuld). I have no clue what was going on. I hope it doesn't do it again.

I think with my gearing top speed would be around 130 (?). If I had enough power to get it there that is. That is with 3.55s I think my 8.25 is gonna be good behind this 2.5 although an lsd would be neat. Got a hook up on them? lol

Well, turns out for some reson or another my driveshft is too long for the new rear so I had to have it shortened.
I do not advise anyone with limited skills or shallow pockets to attempt this rear conversion.
I was going from a guys account (online) of his 8 3/4 and CalTracs install and it was all real simple andexactly as he laid it out untill my driveshaft was too long. So theres another $100 into the job, no biggie but for somene less fortunate as I it would be disaster.

I should have it on the road by this weekend, I cant wait!!

You need to pick up the latest Mopar Muscle, it has an awsum gen2 (I've seen on Dragtrucks.com).

Take care, Scott

The thing is still messin up. The shop couldn't find anything wrong when they had it. It doesn't do it when my dad drives it. Just when I take it out. I don't drive different than anyone else tho. SO I'm really not sure what's up with the dak.
On the ROAD by this weekend? Take that baby to the track!
As for Mopar Muscle. I have a subscription :)
First that GenII RC 440 dak and now a 94 RC that went from a 318 to a 408. Very cool.

Wish I had the one piece rear window too. My slider tends to rattle at different rpm. The resonance of the Flow is pretty good. lol

glad you liked em, like I said it'll look bit dirrerent once its back on the road.

Got all the welding done today, reassemble it all and I'll be kikin with 4.10's!!
I'll have the Mopar 15" ralleys on it for a while, I just heard Nitto came out with a drag radial so I'm gonna locate a set of those for the 3000GT rims.

Dodgeboy (Greg) liked my exaust setup so much he did the same but even better than mine, he used new tips (mine are 1970 vintage!) and he had his held tight up to the valance cutouts, his sh1t looks alot better than mine.
I just did it because I wanted a Flowmaster single in dual out and had those tips sittin around.

Shame to hear your gonna get rid of yours for a new one because I bet you get a gen3, huh?

Oh well, good luck with whatever you do.

Scott
