Nah, not even planning on getting a genIII. I've been lookin' at GenII CC 318's. If I can't find a good one of those around I'm also checkin out >looks around to see if anyones listening< 5.0 Rustangs. I can't stand this 2.5 crap. It's sooo slow,I have to almost get on it to keep up with traffic. I'm not jumpin' ship though, there's my pops' 2002 QC in the driveway that I will take to meets if I don't get anotha dak.

Oh man we would hate to loose ya to the Ford camp but I do understand, I helped build a few 5.0's and they can be pretty fun!

Never driven a 2.5 Dak, I would imagine its pretty slow.

Have you heard from Greg (intense39) yet? did he fall off the face of the earth? lol

Take care. Scott

Pretty slow? The only thing that could be slower is a genIII 2.5 They're just so heavy.

I haven't talked to greg lately, I'd like to, but I haven't.

I am not one to boast like some on this site, I only tell a few people who seem interested about my progress and you seem to like to hear it so here goes.

Many trials and tribulations but my 1970 Cuda 8 3/4 rear is in!! I took the 3rd member out of my 73 340 Challenger that has 4.10's with L/S and put it in.

Needless to say....SHE ROCKS!!

I took it for a breakin/test drive, OMG! the 4.10's with L/S really woke her up, I cant wait to get my bottle filled and get to the track.

BTW, I just bought another Dak for work, I found a 96 V6 SB, RC with A/C, buckets and console, its a sport just like ours, its got 53k on it and I got it for 3500!! I have been lookin and I think thats a pretty good price, do you?

Hope all is well with you and hope your problem is close to resolve.

Scott

i am still here fazdak....

glad to hear that you finally got those 4.10s in. Thats the next mod i am looking at. Plus i will be getting a lsd in september and installing all myself (sounds like fun). lately i havent done anything to my ride except for some manifold work. I managed to shorten the divider, runners and radius the fuel injector bosses. Painted it blue with the alternator bracket and it looks pretty neat. Its ford blue so its a little lighter in color but it will look better when my truck gets flamed with a lighter blue color. Just yesterday i had the muffler shop remove my flowmaster and build a tail pipe off of the cat that goes over the frame and dumps infront of the right rear tire... sounds pretty loud but the muffler man used 2" pipe and its crimpt to hell. he only charged my $30 for it so i am gonna use it as a templete for a mandrel bend peice.

have you gone to the track yet? if so what are your numbers?.... i hope to be going soon

Nice to hear from you again dude!!!

Glad all is well with you.

Havent been to the track yet, I'm still street testin my welds, first time I've ever used flux core so I'm not to sure bout it.

I email you a while back but I understand your not on AOL anylonger.
I would like to know if your ladderbars connected into your stock leaf spring front hanger? I think I am going to go ahead and convert to link rear but I'm not in the mood to weld hangers on the frame.
If your do fit the stock hangers where did you get em? I saw some that looked like they may work from AIM but they wont write me back.

Thanks alot dude, stay in touch.

Scott

they do mount up to the stock hangers BUT they pushed my axle back about 3/4 of an inch (longer wheel base). They are the ones from aim. they come in a kit that has a panhard bar, c-notches, ladder bars. I bought it when they kit was $299 but now i think it sells for $349. Most people b!tch about aim quality but so far they have lasted pretty good. The only trouble i have had is that the ladder bars are too long..... but if my truck was completly slammed it would be the right fit because it would go way up into the frame. Another thing was that the mounting hole on the alxe tube mounts was too small so i had to open it up a bit with a grinder to fit over the axle tube..... i think that the genII have a smaller axle tube.... i dunno. Either way i am gonna relocate my stock shackes to correct my pinion angle and wheel base problem. I set the pinion for when my bed wasnt on my truck and it wasnt the same with the bed....oops!

either way i am happy with it. btw... i broke a couple of welds on my rig because i used a weak welder... but i had Jay the muffler guy fix them for $10.

see ya later dude

Thanks alot for the info!

Did the ladderbars have an adjustable eye on the front? if not I've been told its best to cut the fixed eye off and put a Heim joint on.

I may wait on all that though, I nailed it sat night (without the bottle) and my home made pinion snubber setup seemed to control it all pretty well, guess I'll know a little more this eve when I have a full bottle, ;-D>

Good idea on "relocating the shackles", I would of never thought of that.

Tires and bottle heater and I'm off to the track!! I'll keep you posted.

Thanks again. Scott

WEll the truck is dead again. The pos dies 12 times on the way home from work. One time at a stoplight and my buddy following me home had to uise his car to push me out of the road. It's going to the shop tomorrow where I will have to spend hundreds of dollars trying to get it to run. Happy birthday to me. I'm 19 tomorrow. Son of a bitch.

Oh damn dude!!!

Sorry to hear that.

When it dies does it start right back up? if not try turning it over with one spark plug wire pulled off with an old plug in the boot, hold the spark end of the plug about 1/16 from the block and turn it over, see if it sparks. If it dosent well you have a bad coil or ignition part.

Next, when it dies try loosing a fuel (if you have any threaded fittings) with the key on, that could tell you if its your pump.

I know you probably not a mechanic but if you can narrow it down to fuel or spark it may save you some money.

Good luck dude. Scott

It's not fuel. It's not spark. I talked to a dood and we've concluded it is most likely the crank sensor. Took it to the shop and the mechanic there said the same thing. Hopefully that is what it is and it gets fixed.

SO far I have replaced:

fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, fuel injector, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and some vacuum lines. Most of that stuff needed replacing anyway, I mean, it has 96000 miles on it...

Greg:

Think you can hold on to em a little bit? Once I get it back to running perfect it will be time foe the mod bug to hit before I get rid of it. I WILL buy them if they fit. They should.

Also, I'm thikin the mopar performance cam...you in? I still have the drop kit too...lol I'd need to put on new tires for that though. It needs new tires... Oh man. I want to get rid of the damned thing but there's just stuff I want to do first.

Okay, okay, okay. Here's the plan. I will buy the wires from you (assuming they do fit and they should). The cam according to eddie_orlando only costs 60-80 bucks. So I think that will go in. The drop kit I will hang on to. I never know when I'll get another genII and think it sits too high.

they will fit... that 2.5 is the same as my 2.2... but with no turbo.

Contact this place:
www.forwardmotioninc.com

they have some good cams there but if you want to change out that cam there are a few things you should also do....

JE performance lifters (i think they were about $40-60)
High rev Rockers (dont remember the actual price but those two items will help that cam.

Does that shelby motor you have have the two piece intake manifold or the one piece? if it does than we can try to make your truck multi port fuel injection... but there might be some problems with the computer.

let me know when where and......... and when

I knew they'd fit, I'm just bein goofy. I just put on some replacement 7mm wires. Ugh. I want to put the magnecors on badly.

Lifters and rockers huh? I'll be spinnin this badboy all the way to the 6k rpm rev limiter. lol I'll check em out. Once it get back from the shop I will be looking for a new car, my dad will be driving the 2.5 to work for awhile since he doesnt want to put more miles on his dak then he has to. SO I'm not sure how much will actually get done to the little thing.

As for the mpfi. The car was my uncles, some people bought the body and left the motor. Why? I do not know. It was a good motor. But most of the wiring got hacked up. If indeed I could get the turbo exhaust manifold to bolt on it would be cool. I'd have to get new insides for the turbo or maybe just upgrade it, then run custom piping.

But as I said, I won't have this thing for long. Gonna have sopmething new to mod. Wires are a go however. I'm not sure if I'll be able to go to the meet sat. and neither are you so I'm not sure when I'll grab em. Maybe we can meet at the track soetime.

Peace
