Message: Instead of waiting for the K&N GenII, why couldn't we go with the Volant. To me, it looks just as nice if not better, and it's available now!!! Just a thought.

Message: Do we have to be registered (ie. pay dues) in order to get a group discount here? The Z-tube I hear is much better than the K&N will be anyway.

Message: The Volant system is a very nice system and I would put it right up against the Z-tube. The Z-tube was the first one out and everybody jumped on it. Everyone likes it better than the others because it looks better. Also, If you ask most of these people that have the Z-tube most of them probably had never heard of Volant before they bought them. Volant puts a lot of research & development into their filters. Volant and K&N also have the same thoughts on the plastic intake tube. The tube is designed with a specific shape that decreases turbulance. As far as power gain goes, I would love to see some dyno charts with this intake compared to the z-tube.
Tonic, who told you that the Z-tube is much better than the K&N will be anyway. No one has even seen the K&N yet. K&N is a VERY large company that has the money and time to put into research on their products. K&N FIPK Gen II has always been known to be among the best intakes on the market.
I was waiting for the FIPK for my truck and was seriously considering the Volant and the only reason I am not jumping in on this group buy is because my truck is being used as the test & fit truck for the new G-Forced Ram Air system for the 4.7.

Message: CyberWolf. What is the G-Forced Ram Air system? Who makes it. How does it compare to the Shaker hood?
Thanks

Message: From what I heard through the "grapevine", the G-Forced intakes are not going to be built. Or are they just for the 4.7's now?
Volant, K&N, Intense Performance, etc., all make an excellent intake system. They're all within a few HP of each other so the actual performance difference relies on the driver. (2-5HP won't make a world of difference since driver error can cause more problems in e.t.'s than 5HP.)

Message: G-Forced is a new company in Rowlett, TX. It is owned by a guy named Guice Mercer. Bernd, you may have heard of him. He keeps in touch with Bruce also. He was supposed to be making some intake for the new throttle bodies but I'm not sure what the deal is with that. Guice showed a ram air system for the R/T at the meet in Topeka. The truck that won the all-motor event had his ram air system on it. It was a very good system but hes having a hell of a time marketing it because it costs him over $300 to make. As of now only 4 or 5 R/T's are running his ram air system. He wants to get into the 4.7 market with a Ram Air system. He showed me some basic designs and it looks good. We are waiting for my truck to get out of the body shop so that we can start measuring for the initial test fit. I've seen these systems and they are very well made and very good designs. He has track times that prove that they work also. His biggest problem is getting his name out there. It's a small company as of now but everyone has to start somewhere. He is also working on an X-brace for the Dakota for a much better price than the Kenny Brown X-brace. Also, he will custom make intake or ram air systems for just about any car.

Message: Sorry Horbedarn, I don't have any pictures. I'll try to get some. There arent any pictures of the 4.7 system yet because it is not built. We will probably start measuring this weekend. The only pictures I might be able to get is the R/T system. It's pretty sharp looking. It's all aluminum and tig welded. It wasn't just thrown together either. I saw the original and it had been cut and welded several times. He did a lot of testing to find out what built the psi up quicker. Looks like every little 1/8 inch counts.
