This is the email response I received to an inquiry about the K&N Gen II 4.7:
"This kit took a bit longer to develop than other kits. We were unable to
get the horsepower increase that we wanted to get out of the kit. With some
revisions to the intake tube we were finally able to get the horsepower
increase to where R&D wanted it to be.
We are hoping to have this kit released sometime around April. I believe
that we are waiting for some hardware and the CARB approval. I know youre
probably tired of hearing this but you can check back with us around April
for a possible update on the release of this kit.

Yeah, it's a genuine K&N reply. lol. Hard to come by these days.
Congrats on receiving your sus lift kit, and good luck with the install. Can't wait for the pics. Thankfully those will come before the fipks. ;-)

I'm still in. That is if this thing ever flys! Of course the first thing that we will hear from K&N is that they are out of stock on the kit, that should happen about three days after they release it.
I think at this point, the fun will be gone if they ever do bring this thing to market.

I recently recieved this email from K&N. I asked about delivery on the Gen II kit for our engine, and this is their response.....
"Some delay in procuring outside parts. We get stainless steel hardware from
an outside vendor and not that it is boating season, its getting hard to
come by. We are now shooting for late April - early May. I just got off
the phone with the R&D guy in charge of kits so this is right from the
source.

If everyone is so anxious to get this intake, why not get one from Intense Performance. I have their stage II filter with ceramic Z-tube and love it. If anybody would like to see pics of one installed on a Durango, just e-mail me. Glenn

LoL I might have some $$ again once K&N comes out with the intake.
Glenn.. I'm holding out until I see some Dyno's for the 2 intakes.
Then the best performer will get my $$. But until K&N comes out with one.. I'll be putting it towards other mods.

I want to invite all 4.7 owners to join the new 4.7 performance group. If we all get together and organize better we will have much more of a force to go to companies such as K&N with and push them to bring products such as these to market.

I just received the following response to a request for an update on the FIPK. Light at the end of the tunnel???
The kit is now in the production stage, and if all goes as planed should be
ready for release in mid summer. Please check back then for a possible
update. Also you can check our web site at www.knfilters.com it is updated
every Monday with new products.

I think we probably need to start a new thread once this finally comes out.. That way we don't have to waide threw all the BS to find the people that actually wanted in on this Group Buy.

As I posted on a different thread, I just talked to K & N on Wednesday the 1st and they said check back in a week because the FIPK for the 4.7L was going to be out next week. Lets hope! I want to get in on the group buy also!
