Subject: Crower 1.7 Roller Rockers

Hey folks,
Anyone else intrested in a group buy on Crower Roller rockers? Currently I run a stock cam, that will eventually change so I would like to go ahead and get the 73656PK at $683.53 direct from Crower. This is for the 5.2/5.9 V8 with the roller rockers, guides, and new push rods for OVER 5500RPM's. I won't be digging much higher than 5500 until a cam swap but want to put them in for when I do get the Cam swaped out. Just another new idea.

Crower claims the pushrods are .50 longer, but there actually .75 longer. The stock pushrods are 6.875 and Crower claims the stock ones are 6.900. I have the 6.950 and going to install them and turn the motor over to see if they will work. I'm doing a cam install with them using a custom grind from Crower. I'll let you know if those longer pushrods work. Just kinda worried about the rooler tip on the valve staying centered. I talked to the pushrod tech at Crower and he didn't know crap. He didn't tell me nothing I didn't already know. He couldn't explain at all why there pushrods are .75 longer. So i'll try and let you know.

Don't forget that the factory valve covers will require the baffles to be removed. Preferred installation is with the Mopar Performance valve covers.

I have the scoop on the Crowers. The longer pushrods keep the geometry correct and center the roller on the valve tip. If you are concerned about the rocker staying on the valve long term, get the guide plates. I have not heard of anyone having problems without them. The baffles do not have to be removed (They are in there for a reason). They have a crease

I have the Crower pushrods and guide plates. They're guide plates aren't as thick as the single stock ones. They're double guide plates. I had it out with them as far as the pushrods. Way long strory. They really couldn't tell me much about them. I wsas delayed with working on my truck when Tropical storm Allison decided to pay us a visist down here in Louisiana, I was pretty much screwed since i work for the power company. I'll let you guys know hot the pushrods work on the 1.6 ratio rockers.

Finally finished. I have all my stuff in. I used the Crane Guide plates. The longer pushrods are perfect for my cam. Even though I used the 1.6 Rockers. I went with the Crane Guide plates because they were longer. I'm using the Mopar Performance valve covers also. If your running a high lift cam, definitely go with the longer pushrods. I'm running a .507/.533.

You can keep the stock springs, but if you're going to be running it at higher rpms a lot, change them to the H/D Springs from Mopar.
