Hey 98kotasport, subs are awesome for punk for and metal. I never listen to rap and I've had subs in every one of my cars of the past. Subs make all kinds of music more bold and crisp, def worth it. Just my opinion.
P.S. If you listen to Metallica, you should get subs. Gets you so amped.

Ok guys, Im working on this deal, we will need 10 guys to buy and probally wont matter which version just 10 total, thats how it usually works. Im checkign on it today and hopefully will have a price based on 10 selling 10 units today. Then we will build a list of people who want them and see if we can get a better price with a higher number. SO spread the word and have them email me or post here.

If you are talking about the amped thunderform,
it is a 100 watt amp that runns at .5 ohm. the subs run at .7 ohm.

Thats kinda odd, i bet that makes them super efficent (sp?). I know it cant beat out a true box, but does anyone that has this think it sounds good (giving a little because of the box size)? I kinda want the amp'd version for matching and running subs at .7 ohm... thats just crazy...

I emailed Jonas and he said MTX doesn't want to sell the amped version because the amp is too weak and they've been getting complaints. Think about it, you have 2 6000s, each capable of 200 watts RMS each. You're gonna want more power than 100 watts(and thats a max. output) I have a MTX amp, puts out 240 watts RMS( 400 max.)this should be fine. You should be running at lease 100 watts RMS to each sub.

Well I just could not wait!
I tore it all apart last night. It really was not that hard to install although it did take about 3 hours. I was being careful not to break any plastic clips.
MTX has very good instructions that do come with the box. and it came with a 10 gauge power wire, 10 gauge ground and a remote wire. The ground and remote was about 2-3 feet long. Fuse and all the connectors for the wires. GOOD JOB MTX!
As you know I have the amp version the rf gain and crossover are simple to use. The amp is ample enough as well.
I run the rf gain at about 65-70% and the cross over is bearly on. About 15%
It sounds good. I got it to enrichen the sound and it sounds very nice.
I have the Aiwa mp3 player matched with 4 pioneer ts or tp something. Along with the thunderform. Damn it is nice. With that set up you have a great all around sound.

Ok, Im doing it. Ill be taking orders(money) tommorrow. Due to lots of advice and thought however I will only be doing the unloaded boxes. The price will be $195.00 (that includes shipping)and will be shipped to your door. Here is the "thought", and no offense to anyone who wants and/or has the loaded box. I was told that the amped version often has lots of problems, and next Ive never heard the subs that come in the boxes and I dont want to be limited to midgrade MTX subs, and I dont want to buy subs twice. I would rather get the box and then go listen to subs and buy the ones I want! If you want the MTX you can always buy them later for just about the same price. So Im taking orders for the unloaded boxes starting tommorrow. You need to email me, pay me through paypal, I will send the money in one lump sum,and send it to the distributor.

Yeah, i just did some more looking, and the MTX 6000s are some expensive subs, and if i can get 2 for only 90 bux extra, you best believe i want it loaded. And if they amp is matched to the subs, i'll go that way. But at best i really want the box with subs...

I definitely interested... however today I paid a visit to my local Circuit City to discuss the options of having a seperate amplifier.
To my chagrin, there really isn't much room in a Club Cab to put an amp... unless you want it out in the open on the floor of the backseat where it would be exposed to harm.
Also, if you ever have any riders in the back, there is no way to cover a "medium" to "large" amp. This would be a problem since amps typically get warm to hot... and potentially could burn a small child sitting in back.
The installer told me that a small amp could fit behind the panel next to the rear speakers... however you wouldn't have any access to change any settings without taking the whole backend apart.
So now I am beginning to think that those amplified thunderforms are sounding pretty good right about now.
Geez... I just don't know what to do!

Guys, this is good to discuss...and I realize everyone will have different concerns about which box to get and what to do if you dont get the amped version. Myself Ill just monut mine under my seats, but this is why I decied to offer all three models.
Also we now have 4 orders placed, I have 4 others that say they are sending the money on monday. So If you add my order and considering everyone can send in their money on monday we only need one more person before the actual order can be placed and the Thunderforms shipped out.
