you shouldnt need to remove it completely. you will need a star screw driver, one screw up by the mirror, one behind the actual door lever, and one behind the handle on the panel. should be all you need to get back there to the nuts

If you do need to get the whole pannel off, you'll have to disconnect the door latch and lock latch too. If you don't have power windows, you'll have to pull the window crank handle off. There is a small metal ring-clip that holds the crank on located between handle and door pannel. You can pop it off with a screw driver once you find it. That I think was the hardest part of getting pannel off. Once thats off and screws are out, just lift up on pannel and it should come right out.
