well this is the Volt meter I have

the problem is on speedtweaks it says to adjust the voltage to .7-.75 if not already there, well my meter has a +or- .25 volts, now I might as well use a frigen test light seein how I could be dead on .7 and the thing could be reading .45 - .95
is there a certain tester that is mores sensible than others? or am I doing something wrong?

Which two wires are you probing? Did you have the ignition in the "on" position with the engine not running?

I mean my meter has a .25 +or- accuracy. Well .25 is enough to through me way off. I haven't checked the truck yet, I'm just talking about the meter end of it.

no no no... the website says you have an accuracy of +/- .25% on DC voltage .. %%%%% not Volts ... that means +/-.002 volts
You should be fine.

ok...all well and good. i want to do this mod to mine too...my question is...how do you adjust the voltage if it needs adjusting? there are only the two screws, and a wire harness connector. how is it adjusted???

Sorry, misread your post. FYI-I managed to dial mine in at 0.745 rather easily. Use a steady hand and tighten the screws alternately.

thanks for pointing that out, I just saw the header in read says .25 DCV accuracy
but then I re-read it and what do ya know

as soon as I can find where I put that damned meter I'll let ya know how it goes. I just hope it's far away from .7 now, so I can get that much more gain hahaha.

I guess once you install the sensor (without tightening the screws) turn the whole tps. Drilling out the stock bushings allow this to be done.

thanks, i had printed that out before. my question is....does tightening the screws make the adjustment? does moving the sensor change and adjust the voltage? do i have to hold it perfectly still while tightening? is that were the change in voltage would come from?

It's a potentiometer. Resistance changes with rotation. Supply voltage is fixed so as it turns the voltage output changes.
