"Best" is a relative term.

There are currently 5 different types of throttle bodies, in various sizes.

Billet Throttle Bodies - Completely new pieces made from solid billet aluminum. More expensive, but no core charge/exchange (ie: can sell factory TB to recoup some costs). Data shows billet throttle body designs have the highest airflow.
F&B Billet Throttle Body: 50mm/52mm/52x55mm
Hughes Engines Billet Throttle Body: 50mm/52mm/55mm

Ported Throttle Bodies: Less expensive than a billet throttle body (even after core). Remanufactured factory throttle bodies where restrictive parts have been ground down, bores opened slightly, new blades, etc. Requires you to send back your factory TB. Typically adequate for the mild to moderately modified vehicles.
APS Ported Throttle Body: 48mm/50mm/52mm
Fastman Ported Throttle Body: 50mm/52mm/53mm
Hughes Engines Ported Throttle Body: 50mm/52mm/53mm

I personally own a 52mm Fastman and love it, but have seen nothing but glowing reviews from the F&B TB's (I just couldn't afford the difference at the time). APS is a newcomer to the market, and Hughes seems to be a copycat of the Fastman/F&B products from the opinions posted recently. Political battles aside between brand names, I haven't heard anything bad about the actual product quality of any of the above models.

Stick with a 50mm if you've got minimal mods (air intake, exhaust, etc.)... Go to a 52mm once you're up around rockers/M1/headers (even S/C and NX), and keep the 53/55mm's for the big boys. Opening up too much airflow without the mods to back it up can kill off your bottom end.
