Does anyone have any experience with the decal racing stripes? I have seen them for as cheap as $75 on eBay and $375 on What kind of differences should I expect between the expensive ones and the cheap ones? Do they look good? What if I put them on and after a month decide they look stupid? I am not new to installing moderate size decals but these look like they could be pretty difficult to get them to properly follow the contours. Should I leave installation up to a pro? Who would be considered a pro? (body shop, trim shop, decal shop) In your opinion, what would look better, white or silver on intense blue?

Cheap ones fall off, and expensive ones seem to stick better than your paint. That has been my experience. I put mine on with my father's help, and we got them very straight without any mishaps. I'm going to post pictures as soon as I get them back. I got a cool set at Penstar Reproductions for $265, you could check them out and see if its something you like.

I saw that the real expensive ones are actually molded to fit the contours. Is that how yours were? If not would that have been easier?

Mine run straight down the sides of the truck, so the countor was only an issue on the hood. My decals are cut to follow the hood line, and they actually have a break down the body line of the hood and the fender (so part is on the hood, and part on the fender). If you put the decals on by spraying them with a soap and water solution, they are really quite easy to line up. It took us about 4 hours from start washing to finished and waiting for the stripes to dry. I let them dry for about and extra 5 hours in a 75 degree garage before driving away.

My feeling is that you will get what you pay for, to an extent. A good rule of thumb is to find out an estimate of what paint would cost for the design you want. The decals shouldn't cost much more than 50% of that.
