Me:
2001 Dakota SLT+, 4.7L auto, 3.55, 31" tires, 4X4, Club cab.
Or
Them:
1999 Dodge 1500 1/2 Ton, 5.2L Standard, 2WD, 3.55 Gears, standard tires,
regular cab, short box.
both vehicles are stock except I have a glasspack installed instead of
muffler, no other mods on both vehicles.

Hey man I don't want to sound like a broken record here but take that action to the track and find out.
I'd say the RAM has the advantage there, if we are talking stock other than the mods stated. It seems to me you have a slightly heavier truck to begin with. Your unsprung weight is greater than his, plus you have the added parasitic loss of the 4x4 drivetrain.
The 4.7 is a lighter motor than the 318 but It's not a miracle worker. They stack up pretty evenly.
I'll bow out before all the other guys show up and start telling you that you will win.... but first you have to port the TB add an Fipk and relocate the battery... (and hope that he doesn't do the same stuff.)
Remember there are worse things than finding out how your truck performs, by losing.
