Subject: Rust starting on filler neck!!

Message:
I went to fill up my Dakota today, while I was pumping gas I notice rust starting on the filler neck. It's kind of hard to see when standing, but when you get down to it at eye level. It's a very nice sight. I just wanted to point it out, so everyone is aware of the situation. So check your Kota.

Canadian winters ROCK!!! F$@#ING SALT

Wow...maybe if you washed the salt/road grime off every now and then and lifted the gas flap and sprayed that out, it wouldn't have happened.

Seriously, road grime and salt are BAD for paint and metal. I work for a dealer and I can name atleast 5 cars whose front-ends needed repainted from all the salt splashed up from just sitting there.

Anthony-I noticed the same thing. I live in New York same deal with the salt. No, matter how many times you wash it; the salt will be there. My front has chips from the road salt. The semi's kick it up and literally spray the front of the truck.

No sh!t. My truck right now is 2 tone black with white overspray. On my 97 it was the screws rusting.

You should try cleaning the black plastic fender flares on a Gen II Dak with Armor All on a black truck. You cannot get all of it without getting some armor all on the paint.

Only Rust I've seen is on the screws for the licenses plate. I did not get down to eye level to check the filler cap. Last I heard sniffing gas was not recommened.

BABY? Hmmm! My truck is Black. The salt is hard to keep off...unless you wash it every night after work. That's the bottom line.
I commute an hour one way everyday, washing the truck after work is not in the game plan. I usually wait for the weekend.
