Hi
I was wondering if anyone else has had a problem with there intemittent wipers on a 2002 dakota. On intermittent the wipers will swipe anywhere from 2 to 6 times instead of just the single swipe they use to do and when i turn them off they will sometimes swipe quite a few times before they stop. Any input would be appreciated
Thanks Chris

try changing position of steering wheel say one click at a time and run through wiper options at each station. shorted wires are common in these trucks.

I had a similar problem with my '00 when it was new - sometimes got multiple wipes on the intrmittent setting. Dealer was unable to figure it out - said it could be like 7 different things, and they couldn't fix it without identifying exactly which one. I felt like they were blowing me off, I can think of 3 things (wiring like OBIO3 suggests, faulty switch, faulty body control module). Can anyone think of any more ? Good luck. For me, luck took care of it, it's only happened once more in the last five years (several occurances when new).

Had a similar problem on my 2001. The delayed wipers had no more delay and would wipe a couple times at a fast interval then slow once or twice then fast, with no pattern and no matter where i had the knob set on the wiper switch. Like it had a mind of its own. I replaced the wiper switch/blinker arm myself since it was less than my deductible on the extended warranty but that didn't fix it. Since I got my truck from CarMax they fixed it under warranty. I had a 18,000 mile extended warranty on it. They said it was the "wiper delay module". Never saw it mentioned in my Haynes book and don't know where it is or what it looks like but maybe a dealer parts guy would know about it. Maybe that's what's wrong with yours too.
