Does anyone have info on a cabover camper for my 2001 Dakota Quadcab? Who makes a good one? Where can I find a good used one, etc.

Why would you want one?
The bed is so short .
I would look for a tent trailer and tow the thing, ...but that's just me.

I know I've seen them, but can't remember where. The top extended all the way to the front of the cab, making for a very large bed. The back ended at about where the tailgate ended. The main compartment was pretty small. Basicly, a warm and dry place to sleep and cook meals. That's about all it was good for. I can't remember the weight, though. Seemed like it was pushing the max for the Dakota.

99 DAK CC 4X4 >> 72" box >> northland >> 1170 lbs empty >> Mine was an older one >> 1979 but was like new > Cab over was to low for the dak so I put a 5/8 plywood sub floor under it and 2x6's all around the bottom for proper hight > > So more weight > I had special springs made for the rear >> regular springs well put your nose way high >> Dakota IS NOT made for a camper > Was told if i tried air bags or air shocks things well break including the frame > BUT >> After doing as I did the truck worked well > Made several trips to the coast and one through the columbia gorge ( Oregon ) where the windshild wipers was lifting a good 6 " off the window > Truck did very well >> Hope this helps <>
