 Subject: HVAC gone bad

I just had my HVAC unit go out. I have a 2001 model. The heat and air still blow out either hot or cold air, but there is no difference from the high or low setting. There is just a faint air flow. Any ideas what could be wrong. I have checked the fuses and none a blown. I would like to fix it myself since the warranty is voided. Has anyone else had this problem? It seems that the blower unit maybe malfunctioning, I don't have any good leads where to start.

I have not had any response to the above message and was wondering where is the location of the blower unit for the AC located. I believe that is where the problem is. It only blows air into the cab when the truck is in motion. The faster it goes the more are comes out. Any help is appreciated

Search around this forum, Brian. There was mention of a resistor board going bad in a couple peoples' trucks.
Maybe one of those guys will roger up and give you specifics.

Same symptoms on my 2001 quad. new resistor board fixed it, took about 5 minutes. I think the dealer charged around 10 or 15 bucks

Just want to think everyone that answered. Pick up resistor board for 10 bucks from dealer today. 15 minutes later, nice hot air. THANKS!!
