 Subject: Coolant leak

Yeterday I installed a new automatic belt tensioner and a new serpentine belt on my 93 4x4 Dakota w/318. This afternoon, after driving a few miles I noticed a sizeable puddle of anti-freeze beneath my truck. When I climbed under it for a look, the anti-freeze was dripping from what I think is the crankshaft pulley. I know this is not where the coolant is coming from, but possibly above it. Any ideas?

Could be coming out of the "weephole" on the bottom of the coolant pump behind the fan.The pump shaft seal goes and then leaks out of this hole. Just a suggestion. Good luck!

If coolant is coming out of the weephole on the coolant pump housing, I think you will need a new pump. Just make sure thats where its leaking from. There should be a tiny hole on the bottom of the pump which is usually located behind the fan. Maybe get under your truck with a flashlight and see if that is where it is leaking from. Follow the shaft the fan is mounted on and look underneath on the pump housing. There should be a tiny hole there. If coolant comes out of this hole, you need a new coolant pump.
