I have a 2004 reg cab without the Infinity upgrade. I have already upgraded the cd receiver with a Panasonic WMA/MP3 cd receiver and am about to order speakers. I have heard the Kappa components were good but I'm not sure if I want to drill holes im my door and was wondering how the KAPPA63.5I 3 way, or the KAPPA62.5I 2 way would compare to the component system. I don't know much about car audio and just want something that is going to sound good. I think I have already decided on the KAPPA52.5I 2 way for the rear unless there is a way to squeeze the 6.5" speakers back there, then I may go with the larger 3 or 2 way. Thanks for any advice you guys can give me.

Components will most always sound better then 2/3-ways that are down low in the doors. Cutting the tweeter hole is disconcerting (...been there, done that...), but the results are worth it.
When it comes time to part with the truck, if you want to keep the speakers, then buy an el-cheapo set of tweets and replace your good one's, then put the stock 6 3/4" back in.
For the rears units, to be honest, and others may disagree here, in a RC I don't see much need for any rear speakers. They'll just muddy the sound stage.
In other cars that might be an issue if the front speakers aren't of sufficient size to produce enough bass. Then larger speakers in the back make sense, but with 6+" in the front, you should be fine. If you are adding a sub, you are definitely fine.

Thanks for all your help guy's. I ordered my speakers last nite. I went with the Kappa 60.5cs Component's up front, and Kappa 52.5i 2 ways in the back. I took it all apart and found no way to fit bigger speakers than 5 1/4" in the back. I decided to go with the component's because after I removed the door(really simple btw) I found a diagram on the back that shows were the factory tweeters would be and the material looks pretty easy to cut with a dremel. Thanks again for all your help.

I have done a whole writeup of this same topic befor.
I have probable the same deck that you do, and the same components in the front, but I have 3 ways in the rear. It is VERY easy to install the components. I used a dremel also. Just take your time and you will be fine. I will see if I can find my old post to give you any more info.

Sorry to spam, but here is an old post on how to install the speakers.
I have done this install so many times you could not imagin.
you need a #45 TORX.
I f'ed the HELL out of my my seatbelt trying to get them off without buying the torx. here is some advice.
JUST GO BUY IT!!!!!!!!!11!!!ONE!!
Go to sears (one of the only places that I found it). it is 4.56 and is worth EVERY penny.
Here are my install directions, This is the best I can do. they are for a 2000!!! club cab (should be the same)
1) you will need these tools
Phillips head screwdriver
torx #45 with ratchet
crimps
crimpers
wire cutters and strippers
2) gently pull the REAR panel off your cab (the backside of the seats. Start from the top plastic corner and gently pull from left to right (or right to left does not mater). DO NOT WRENCH IT! Be soft!
3) You will now see 4 metal Phillips screws holding the side panels in. Unscrew them and place them somewhere safe. I use the ash/change tray.
4) Go to your seatbelts. GENTLY pull the plastic cover FROM THE BOTTOM, till it snaps free. Place these somewhere safe (like the center console).
5) Get out your trusty #45 torx that you bought. And wrench the dam thing off. Mine must have been applied at about 400 foot lbs of tork...lol.
take the blots and put them somewhere safe. Remember that the LONG one go in the back, short in the front.
6) now open your rear windows (just do it don't ask)
7) with the rear window open gently pull from the TOP REAR of the plastic. there should be 4-5 plastic holder things. They come off in the same fashion as the rear seats.
8) you are now oh so close. Hehe. Do the same as the top on the bottom plastic side panels. Top back to bottom front. Unfortunately you can not take this panel off without removing you bottom seatbelts, which I Think is a waist of time. Just pull them outside with the seatbelts attached, or pull them back into your body.
9)YAY now you can get to you speaker. I assume you know how to do this because it is a DUH, but remove them with a Phillips head screwdriver. You will need to cut and strip the Rear wires.
10)Unfortunately I do not remember the wire codes. Bit I do believe that the rear a left light and dark purple. and rear right light and dark green. Those may NOT be correct, but you can figure it out. The light color is POSITIVE dark is NEGATIVE.
11) Just wire it all up and use the 6 3/4" adapters if you need them.
12) Then BEFORE YOU PUT IT ALL BACK TOGETHER.
PLEASE
PLEASE
PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
TEST the darn thing to make sure it works. You do NOT want to be like me and put everything back to find it does not work.
13) then just reverse all my steps and you should have it all working.
P.S.
DOH after reading my post I forgot to add, the front seatbelts are a pain. When you remove the top plastic panel you have to turn it sideways to get the seatbelt adjuster to come off. When replacing the top part, unfortunately I do not have as good of an option. I center the seatbelt adjuster knob and SLAM the hell out of it till it pops back in. So far nothing rattles and the plastic is not warped. If anyone has a Better option I would be most thankful.

Ben, Thanks for all the info. I wanted to go with the 3 ways in the back as well, but they don't make them in 5 1/4". The 6 1/2" don't fit in a RC. I tried to fit the front speakers in the back and they wouldn't, so I was left with 2 way kappa's. If your interested in what receiver I have its an older Panasonic I bought last July, CQ-HX1083U( http://www.hookedontronics.com/show_product_details.jsp?cid=3815 ). Its a model with a ghost face touch screen that plays WMA/MP3's, I don't know how it compares to yours but I like it alot. As for the installation I ordered the speaker adaptors from crutchfield for $26 shipped so I don't have to cut the wires, I know its probably better to just rewire everything but thought I would try this first and see how it sounds with the factory wires. Thanks alot for all your help and I will let you know how my project goes.

ps. One more thing, how did you mount the crossover's?

Sorry I did not notic that you had a regular cab... :P
Anyway. I mounter the crossovers by placing them on the inside of the door (metal NOT plastic) and using one of the metal speaker clips that come with the kappas I put a screw thouh the door and then though the hole on the components, and then used the metal gromet to keep it snug.I do not know if ANY of that made sence. It should look like this
screw = <---
Door = ||
Component = []
Grommet = }
<--||-[]-}--
then it tightens down to this
<||[]}-
That probably makes NO sence. But it worked for me and it has NO vibration of ill effects.
I did wrap it in dinamat when I did my whole interior. But it was not rattling anyway, so I do not know if that helped or not.

I finished installation today, and they sound amazing. I am having a few problems with the back panels though, they are in, but they are pushing the rubber seal out that goes around the door. I'm not sure what I did wrong, I followed the instructions from crutchfield, but the back panels just don't look right. The seat belt cover clips also broke, but they are staying on for now. If anyone knows any thricks to reasembling the back panels correctly please let me know. Thanks
